Flower Market – Solapur
We went for an unplanned trip to our family friend’s home town Solapur, just to get rid of the hustle and bustle of city. A trip in winters and we were not expecting something unique out there. We just wanted to relax in the calm town and enjoy the farm land. But still we decided to make a city tour and go around nearby places. We went to the famous Sidheshwar Temple and Dr. Kotnis Bungalow which was renovated by China as an acknowledgement for his contribution to their people during World War II. The municipal corporation building displayed the British architecture and their presence in this town as well.
The specialty that caught our interest was the blossoming flower market and its liveliness. There were many stall in the market with lots of colourful flowers. Each stall shows you something new, something fresh and something lovely. The sweet fragrance of flowers were omnipresent in the market. The variety of garlands that were prepared by the artisan was amazing. It luckily happened to us that we were able to see them preparing all these beautiful garlands and were amazed by their fineness and speed. These are prepared for various occasions. The one prepared for bride and bridegroom were awesome. We had never seen so many varieties of garlands specifically for bride and bridegrooms. We realized that every place has something unique about it and we need to experience the same.
Here is a glimpse of what we witnessed…
