In India, travelling by your vehicle on road is a fun but you should be very careful about safety of your near and dear ones. At one hand it is fascinating but on the other hand it’s a challenge enough for a long and tedious drive. We need to understand our family’s preference of road travelling as well. We have covered the safety tips from car maintenance to driving safe:

  • Always do the mandatory checking of your car like when was the last servicing done, air pressure including the spare tyre, fuel, fuel stations available on route, flashlight, flat repair kit if possible, etc.
  • Plan your trip ahead of time so that you can concentrate on the road instead of map. If driving direction is required then ask your accompany to navigate.
  • Make sure that you carry all the valid documents like vehicle registration certificate, insurance, and driving license.
  • Always stay focused on your driving. Try not to let passengers or your cell phone distract you.
  • Most importantly, pull over and take a break if you feel sleepy. Driving while drowsy is a major cause of car crashes. In fact, it can affect a driver’s judgment as much as alcohol or drugs can.
  • Always keep a check on your speed limit. Over speeding does not save you a great amount of time but it does risk your life.
  • Carry healthy snacks and lots of water.
  • Wearing a seat belt is highly advisable for safety reasons.
  • Learn how to change a tyre.
  • When you are changing a flat tyre do safeguard yourself by placing warning signal for the running traffic.
  • Take breaks while driving long distances and try to avoid driving at night. Never over stretch yourself.
