A casual encounter with nature @ Mulshi near Pune!!!
As we were in Pune for few days, we decided to explore nearby places around the city. As the monsoon was at its peak we decided to enjoy the natural beauty coupled with a drive to the sahyadri hills at Mulshi. Mulshi is the name of a major dam on the Mula River located in the Mulshi division of the Pune district. Since we were in Hinjewadi, so this was an ideal place to be in to get ourselves relaxed. Mulshi is to the west of the Pune city off the Mumbai-Bangalore highway. The road goes through a curvaceous state highway surrounded by natural beauty that includes a dam, hills, lake, forests, and waterfalls. The total drive is of around 50 odd km that takes around an hour to cover. The drive to Mulshi was amazing with every turn giving us a surprise and we were mesmerized by the abundance of beauty. We were driving slowly and enjoying our time with taking small halts in between. On one side the tranquility of the lake was making a relaxing effect to our mind and on the other side the magnificence of hills, forest, waterfalls were soothing our soul. We wanted to defuse ourselves in the serene beauty of the place and be its part as long as possible. We became a little adventurous at one place where we were not able to resist our temptation and ventured into a water stream near the highway. We spent some time there in the clean and cold water coming from the hills. We were rejuvenated by the sheer beauty of this place and left this place fulfilling our thirst for tranquility!!!
