We wanted to say good bye to 2016 and start 2017 afresh amidst natural landscape. Yes, that’s exactly what we did. We set our base at “Eco Village” situated amidst backwater of Warasgaon Dam surrounded by Sahyadri Hills, forests, clear sky and waving breeze. A perfect backdrop for nature lovers to camp near lakeside and enjoy the tranquil environment. It was love at first sight with this beautiful place and very friendly host. A perfect place to spend evening or weekend together without any disturbance (especially with very minimal mobile coverage)! Eco Village jungle stay is situated in Pathershet Village almost 55 KMs from Pune and it took us around 3.5 hours from Panvel to reach their which included a drive of 175 KM with almost 20 KMs of rough roads.

Our tent was set near lakeside amidst serene environment and we saw the picturesque sunset with a hope for a better future for all. Bonfire was set up near our tent and we enjoyed the evening with music and food under zillions of twinkling star. By whisker of time it was 12 midnight and we wished New Year to each other before settling into our tent. An equally beautiful sunrise welcomed us in the morning and set the tone for 2017. A beautiful way to start the New Year with cool breeze, amazing sunrise, natural backdrop, tranquil environment and away from the hustle bustle of the city. We soaked in the beauty, energy, and prayed for a beautiful 2017. Happy New Year!

The journey till Panshet was very smooth with good road conditions and after that for next 18 KMs it was rough. Nonetheless, the drive was beautiful amidst picturesque landscapes with a view of lake, dams, hills, and forest. For most of the stretches there were no settlements and people around. Mobile network was also seldom available and we were on our own searching for our place. But this is how you wander and find your destination. A very small signboard placed beside the road that you need to focus on and if missed than you will go on and on. Here is the compilation of some pics en-route to Eco Village:

A beautiful place to be in with tranquil environment. It was close to the nature where one can listen to the songs of the nature. A group of musicians did a live music session which set the tone for the evening. A few glimpse of the place:

The nature also greeted us with bounty of scenic views. What an awesome sunset we witnessed on the last day of 2016! A beautiful end to an year that was filled with lot of travel diaries! Spending New Year’s eve with family and friends amidst serene environment is what we wanted instead being part of crowd. Here is the glimpse of colourful sunset that we witnessed:

Post this amazing sunset, camp was set out near lakeside with a bonfire to celebrate the evening under zillions of star. Good food and music added to our delight and we wished New Year at midnight before settling into our tents.

After a cold night spent in the tent we were greeted with an equally beautiful sunrise to start the day and set the tone for 2017. We got the blessings and energy for the coming year. We admired the beauty of nature and soaked in the purity as well as positive energy omnipresent there. 

We enjoyed rest of the day at the tranquil environment of the vicinity and maximised each and every minute of our time. We achieved the way we wanted to start New Year with cool breeze, amazing sunrise, natural backdrop, tranquil environment and away from the hustle bustle of the city.
