If you talk about Indian dress. Saree comes in first place. It is the most beautiful dress all over the world for women. It is an Indian women’s statement. As we all know India is a country of versatility, hence the most ethnic dress of our country also has various variety as per the region and custom. So if we talk about east we have variety of Bengali Sarees.

Garad being my most favourite is a white saree with red border that epitomizes traditional Bengali women. These sarees are traditionally woven in a strong silk fabric that is not dyed – so as to retain the purity of the fabric – with a bold, red border to off-set the white body. Garad sarees is also known as shuddha sarees and have a sacred importance in traditional rituals of the Bengali community. Worn extensively during festivals, ceremonies and special occasions, this drape is a must-have in all Bengali women’s wardrobe.
