Raahgiriday – A fun filled and energetic morning!!!
While reading the newspaper on a lazy Saturday we came across about this event “Raahgiriday” organised by The Times of India and decided to leave aside our laziness and participate in the event. So, here we go… We reached Palm Beach Road where the event was organised. The traffic on the 1.25 kms of the stretch between Vazirani signal to T S Chanakya junction was diverted by the traffic police for the event. The place was perfect for the event with a lake on one side and green on other side of the road. The atmosphere was full of energy and exuberance with people of all genres flocking to the street. It was like a carnival with runners, skaters, cyclists, dancers, yoga, hula hoop, zumba fitness, sports, music, & gym sessions. Fitness was the theme of the event which people have transformed into a festival.
The highlight of the session was coming together and enjoying it. It was an electric atmosphere with concentration on fitness by various means. Children in their skater and cycling gear were showcasing their skills. People were actively participating in the events be it yoga, or zumba fitness or gym session setting aside their age, caste, and creed. The thumping music was also working as a catalyst. There was a group of people playing music on the lake side and enjoying the morning. There were set of children displaying their kick boxing and football skills. In our day to day life we are so engrossed with ourselves that the essence of togetherness is losing its identity. Instead we prefer to spend time as well as money on foods and mall. An amazing morning and one more to go before this event gets closed i.e. on 8th June 2014.
